My Hardest Year

Daily writing prompt
What’s a chapter of your life you’d title "The Hard Years" — and what got you through it?

The hardest time of my life (and my husband would probably say the same for him) was when we lost our first baby. His name was Christopher Bradley, and he was born with a heart defect and also jaundice. The heart surgery he had I believe fixed his heart, but the jaundice caused his liver to fail. He passed away at only 6 weeks old. So many can probably understand why I’d say that was my hardest year.

I’ve had a cousin lose two adult children and said she kind of knew how I felt but I told her I think I’d rather lose a baby than to have really loved and raised a child just to lose him/her as an adult. I have two wonderful and healthy adult children now who I would never want to lose now. It would be much harder than losing my baby boy.

The One and Only thing that got me through that, plus all the other tragedies in my life, is the One and Only Jesus Christ!
