Oh geesh, (why is geesh not showing up in the dictionary? LOL) I honestly do not know! Growing up I was lucky to have an uncle with plenty of money to take us to concerts because he loved music so much. I started out going to bluegrass festivals because my uncle was a festival promotor, and I honestly love me some Ralph Stanley, Larry Sparks, Dave Evans, etc.!
Then he started taking us to see George Jones and Conway Twitty who were his two favorite singers. I’ve also seen the Kendalls, Vern Gosdin, Don Williams, Ronnie Milsap and a couple others I probably forgot about. When I discovered a country-rock band named Sawyer Brown, I fell head over heels for the lead singer Mark Miller when I was like 12 years old! And over the years I just keep loving them more! Sawyer Brown just had their 40th anniversary tour and I love them maybe more now than when I was 12. I call them my boys!
I’ve also seen rock bands like Motley Crue and Poison with my husband (our first concert together after we started dating) along with Lynard Skynard, 38 Special, and Def Leppard. One I so wish I could have seen and hands down would have been the best for me is Elvis Presley! However, he died when I was four years old and that still devastates me today. Other than Sawyer Brown, he is my all-time favorite singer!
Overall, out of the probably one hundred and something or other shows I’ve been too, the best concert for me is probably Sawyer Brown! Conway Twitty is maybe a close second! I got to say I grew up on some good music and music will always be in my soul!
