Jerry B. Jenkins takes the dramatic prophecy of Ezekiel, chapter 37 from the Holy Bible and reimagines it into a modern dystopian in California that has been devastated by a 17-year-old drought. Although the state has been declared inhabitable, just a small few were called by God to stay and help the ones who could not leave.
It had me from the very beginning with the tragedy of a child and kept me intrigued with faithful and God-fearing characters, especially the main character, who of course is called Zeke – short for Ezekiel, who have constant trials and dangers that they have to go through.
This book continuously had such an impact on me, not only because of what the characters had to experience, but more because they gladly went through it willingly for the Lord God. I also very much enjoyed finding out that a couple characters convert and decide to follow Jesus. Reading a story like this makes me feel so very happy because I know there are people in this world who love God this much.
I know I do!
